Terry Groark, originally from New Hampshire, has been a resident of New Jersey
for more than twenty years. Her compelling photographs combine New England directness and simplicity
with the keen sense of composition, texture, and balance she acquired at the prestigious Rhode Island
School of Design, from which she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
Having settled with her husband and two daughters in the lovely town of Spring Lake
on the New Jersey coast, Terry's photographs reflect the ever-changing backdrop of her surroundings. From exploding
waves to peaceful rainbows, boardwalks to pristine dunes, the shore area offers an unlimited supply of appealing
images which can take on a new ambiance with the slightest change in the intensity of daylight...of twilight...
or a wash of spring rain... or the immersing of the entire scene in a soft fog. Terry's photography, which is also sold at Arteffects...
her gallery in Spring Lake... has been shipped worldwide. Many of her images have been published in several New Jersey magazines.
In March 2001 Terry's photographs of the stained glass windows of St. Catharine's
Church were published in the book, "Following the Light."
What is it about this particular photographer's work that is so universally appealing?
Perhaps it's the sense of peace her images evoke. They are private slices of nature, usually without the intrusion
of people, which seem to draw the viewer in, making the visual experience theirs alone. We hope you enjoy your visit
to our Internet Gallery and that you will find something that appeals to you.
